An easy and cheap way to get a green image: Green shipping

Here’s a way to go green and save some money without actually doing anything green at your company.

Use a green courier or delivery service that’s into “the green thing.”

At least that way a company can brag that it has adopted an eco-friendly way of getting products, letters, documents and what not to customers without hurting the environment. Depending on who you engage with, your deliveries could be carbon-free, which means no greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions related to your delivery.

This is particularly possible in major cities where bicycle couriers have been popular for years. There are also companies sprouting up that will use electric vehicles.

To find these green shippers, the shipping rating service, ShipGooder, Inc., has just added “green couriers” to its listings.

ShipGooder offers companies instant rate comparisons of national, regional and local couriers. The comparisons are free. If you need to compare prices from Federal Express vs. the U.S. Postal Serivce, ShipGooder can track prices for you based on zip codes.

The green courier trend is growing, but they’re not in the mainstream yet. The service boasts listings of 200 qualified green deliverers nationwide at this time.

For example, some bloggers were able to find only one green courier in New York City recently.

The release is here.
