Military braces for troubles created by global warming

The U.S. military-industrial complex says the threat of climate change is not only real, but presents a national security risk.
The New York Times reports that the nation’s top military and intelligence services expect that the global warming phenomenon will create huge challenges to the U.S. security interests.
The effects of climate change could force the U.S. to increase military interventions as developing nations deal with increased flooding, drought, pandemics and the prospect of millions of refugees caused by rising temperatures that are melting the polar ice caps and glaciers and changing traditional weather patterns.
The issue for the military is not what’s causing global warming, or who’s causing it, or even how to reduce the effects by reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
Military planners assume the global warming threat is real, and they’re planning on how to deal with the consequences over the next 20 to 30 years.
Times reporter John Broder says military planners are concentrating on Africa, the Middle East and Asia, where the risk of climate change and the prospect of mass migrations of refugees could spark humanitarian and severe political upheavals.
Broder also notes that the military’s concerns about climate change could help convince the Senate to approve the GHG cap-and-trade bill (H.R. 2454) that was approved by the House earlier this summer. Click here for details.

Has anyone read the book about Chicken Little? I guess if the supporters of Cap & Tax (oh sorry Trade) can wip up enough fear about how the world is comming to an end if we don’t pass H.R 2454, then mabey they have a snowballs chance in hell (or the melting polar ice caps) of fooling the public into accepting it.
Even if we cut our emmissions down to zero. The worlds biggest polluters China and India have no intension of cutting theirs. Is climate change real? Take a look at my comments on the blog “Kinks emerge in the fed’s consensus that global warming is real”
THE CLIMATE WILL CHANGE! Man may or may not have anything to do with it and the military should look at all security threats that may or may not effect the US. That is just good planning, but to equate a military concern with the need to pass a new tax bill is just insane.
The people in Washington need to get a clue, the average citizen in the US is already FED up (Note the spelling), with the government pushing into our private lives. After all this is America “isn’t it”?

AMAZING!!!! Is it the aim of the Federal Government to use scare tactics to pass every bill that the liberals want ? I can’t imagine the final bill that will be passed on to our children, grandchildren and beyond for what this administration is doing. Common sense is the only thing not common in this spending spree.
