Revamping existing technology to make it green

You don’t have create a new product or technology to be part of the green business revolution. Sometimes an environmentally friendly product has been there all along.
Take the case of Clean Burn. The Pennsylvania-based company has been marketing its used-oil burners and furnaces, as well as used oil recycling centers, for 30 years. Customers win because by recycling used oil as a fuel, aka energy recovery, in these burners, they generate free heat and avoid costly hazardous waste disposal.
But now with a bit of marketing based on a keen understanding of EPA compliance regulations, Clean Burn has successfully staked out a green strategy for itself. The company can now tout a few more benefits to its products, such as avoiding transportation costs, which reduces or avoids greenhouse gas emissions, and reduces the risk of oil spills that damage the environment (and company wallets when they’re hit with the cleanup bill).
Plus, in today’s times of rising energy prices, Clean Burn’s technology gives users control over heating bills by letting them burn a “waste” instead of buying costly oil or electricity.
In 2009, Clean Burn celebrates its 30th anniversary in the energy recovery market and adds a green bonus for its customers.
Clean Burn is one of EPA’s Energy Star partners.
